Currently, harvesting work is underway in agriculture throughout the country. At all stages of harvesting work, it is necessary to ensure safe working conditions and preserve the health of working agricultural organizations by complying with established sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the working conditions of workers, for the maintenance and operation of agricultural facilities.
The Polotsk Zonal Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, together with the mobile group of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, constantly monitors compliance by the heads of agricultural organizations of the Polotsk region with the requirements of sanitary and epidemiological legislation when carrying out mass field work. Thus, in accordance with current sanitary standards and rules, the requirements for organizing the work of machine operators are established:
- cabins of agricultural machines (hereinafter referred to as the cabin) must meet the following requirements: the design and internal dimensions of the cabin must ensure a rational location and organization of an individual or collective workplace, protection of workers from adverse meteorological conditions, dust, exhaust gases, chemicals, noise and vibration; must be equipped with efficient ventilation and heating systems. Ventilation systems in the cabin must provide adjustment of the direction and speed of air movement, which should not exceed 0.5 m/sec; in the warm season, the air temperature in the cabin with air conditioning should not exceed 28°C for all zones with a relative humidity of 40-60%; in the cold season of the year, the air temperature in the cabin should not be lower than plus 14°C; must be equipped with thermoses for drinking water, devices for hanging outerwear; the covering of the seats, backrests, and armrests must be durable and soft, easy to clean. Synthetic seat coverings and padding must not release toxic substances into the air of the work area or contaminate the skin under all operating conditions. It is not allowed to operate agricultural vehicles with missing seat covers and padding;
- those working on agricultural machines must be provided with hot meals through the operation of a public catering facility and (or) the installation of places for eating in the field; places for eating in the field should be provided with installations for observing personal hygiene rules (delivery of drinking water in flasks for hand washing, soap, disposable towels); transportation of ready-made meals to the place of eating in the field should be carried out in thermoses or thermal containers;
- vehicles for working organizations with a traveling nature of work must be equipped with bottled water, first aid kits for equipping vehicles (cars), equipped in accordance with Appendix 3 of the resolution “On establishing lists of first aid kits” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus on November 23, 2023. No. 178. It is not allowed to store expired medications in first aid kits.
When carrying out production work, it is necessary to pay special attention to providing workers of agricultural enterprises with special clothing for the season and personal protective equipment, and organizing medical and preventive examinations.
For high labor productivity and maximum results, workers need to create optimal, comfortable working conditions. During the period of mass field work, the above issues require special attention, both from farm managers and trade union organizations, since they ensure the primary safety of working conditions in the workplace, preserving the health of workers.
