🎣 Sad statistics of the weekend: three fishermen died on the reservoirs of the Minsk region👇
One fisherman fell through the ice on the Svisloch, two more died on the Vileika Reservoir due to carbon monoxide poisoning in a tent.
⚡️⚡️⚡️Rescuers remind you of the importance of simple but vital rules:
📌Check the thickness of the ice. Never go out on ice that is less than 7-10 centimeters thick for one person. In places where the ice has a non-uniform structure (for example, near frozen bushes, trees, reeds), it can be much thinner.
📌 Avoid places with fast current. Near gullies and streams flowing into a reservoir, the ice is always more fragile.
📌Don't fish alone. Having a partner or comrades increases the chances of rescue in the event of an unforeseen situation.
📌 Take rescue equipment with you. Having a rope with a loop at one end, a stick or an ice auger will help both in case of falling through the ice and when rescuing another person.
📌Use heating devices correctly. When using heaters in a tent, ensure adequate ventilation. Ventilate the room regularly to avoid carbon monoxide buildup.
📌Report your location. Inform your family or friends about where you are going and when you plan to return.
📌Pay attention to weather conditions. Strong winds, snowstorms, and sudden temperature changes can make movement difficult and increase the risk of frostbite.
📌Don't drink alcohol. Alcohol distorts perception and slows down reactions, which is extremely dangerous on ice.
